Art of Aimée Bulloch
Growing up in Huntsville, Ontario, Aimée Bulloch was embraced by the majestic beauty that the surrounding landscape ritually awarded her, the ever so picturesque Fairy Lake that she awakened to every morning of her youth. Perhaps it was this kingdom that aroused unconscious desires to recapture the engraved memoirs of such a grand scene.

Throughout her high school period where expectations along with societal pressures give teenagers motive to find a comforting outlet for expression, her art teacher, a Bishop’s alumni, was a key inspiration to beginning her journey. As she walked her through the world of art, her feelings, expressions, worries and unconscious thoughts, became enlightened, creating a new, visual reality.

With a strong dedication to the celebration of womanhood, she sought to discover femininity through the eyes of society. Just as the fruits of temptation of which she depicts, her paintings lead on her onlooker whom quickly becomes caught up in a deep mescal of what is forbidden beauty. With the use of bold color relationships, warm and cold contrast is created. Countless tones of lights and shadows follow to generate animation to the sight.

Her goal; finishing the journey that she began with great hopes to bring out the hidden artist in the growing youth, to spread the same inspiration that she was once granted.

Aimée’s work, obvious yet so secretive, mostly captures a still moment in time, concealing heaps of buried sentiments, ones that are relived by the spectator
nonetheless brilliantly different then the time before, instilling an intriguing curiosity, eternally craving for more.
